Signal Technology Program, State College, Pennsylvania
Located among the beautiful
mountains and valleys of central Pennsylvania, the SRI
International, State College office is the birthplace of SRI's
Signal Technology Program.
The Signal Technology Program (STP)
is within SRI's largest group, the Engineering & Systems
Division. The staff of the Signal Technology
Program organization has a broad experience base incorporating
expertise in:
- Open Source solutions
development
- OpenGIS standards-based
software development
- Maritime domain awareness
- Collection and processing
programs
- Data exploitation
techniques
- Data fusion and emitter
correlation
- Systems engineering
(SETA/SETD)
- System architectures
- Networking protocols and
high-performance computing
- Modeling and simulation
- Database design,
implementation and management
- Digital signal processing
and algorithm development
- Mission management and
concept of operations development
- Real-time data distribution
STP has a dual role in serving
its client base. First, this organization performs the systems engineering
activities listed above together with selected prototyping of
software and hardware products, as required, in order to satisfy the
needs of its customers. Second, STP serves as a gateway for SRI technology into the STP
client base for customer requirements to flow from its customers to
researchers within the Signal Technology Program and also elsewhere
within the SRI organization.
These two aspects of the Signal Technology Program are consistent
with the long-established principal focus of SRI International:
technology development and technology transfer.
